Gandhinagar: JAR Audio, a leading podcast production company, is inviting applications for its 2024 Pilot Competition for Women in Podcasting. This project aims to bridge the gender gap in podcasting by offering an aspiring woman podcaster the opportunity to develop and produce a pilot episode with JAR’s mentorship and resources.
The competition is open to women with innovative podcast ideas across all genres, including fiction, non-fiction, interview-driven, and narrative formats. The winning pitch will be transformed into a pilot episode through collaboration with JAR’s team of audio storytelling experts. This includes mentorship sessions on creative and marketing strategies, script development, professional recording, editing, mixing, and publishing on major podcast platforms.
JAR emphasizes that the winning creator will retain full ownership of their intellectual property. The pilot episode can be used as a “calling card” to attract sponsorships or build an audience for future seasons.
This year’s competition follows the success of the 2023 edition, which saw Ann Kane win with her concept, “A Touch of Hysteria.” The podcast tackles gender bias in the medical system, highlighting the challenges women face when advocating for their health. The pilot episode of “A Touch of Hysteria” is now available on major platforms.
