How long is a typical podcast season? What is a typical podcast season? How many seasons can a podcast have? How many episodes are there in a podcast season? Should I have seasons for my podcast? Can a podcast have only one episode? Learn about it here...

Step 9

Podcast seasons are useful

Podcasting based on theme based seasons (season 1,2, 3...) may make content development considerably easier for you and much more effective for your listeners. It gives a logic flow to your content

Best suited for...

Season-based podcasting is extremely beneficial for anyone who offers at least some form of expertise on their podcast. It may work incredibly well for a shows on humour, gaming, sports etc. But not in case of news/current events podcast for obvious reasons

What’s the  ‘Approach?

1.Sit down and think of a topic you’re often asked about  2. Break the topic down into individual lessons  3.Roughly map out each episode with some high-level bullet points.

In case you are into entertainment

A great approach, in this case, is to ‘theme’ a season.  If you cover computer games then you could do a season called ‘'Games we play during office time’. You can cover a new one each week, teasing listeners early on to build hype

Episodes in a Podcast Season...

Some seasons are only 5 or 6 episodes, because such podcasts could cover the topic in that number. Others have been 20 episodes long.

Weekly recording is easier

Rather than coming up with a new topic every week, you’re following a plan over a number of months.

Keeps you motivated

When you record, you're no longer just 'going through the motions.' You know where you're headed, you have a goal in mind, and you're making progress toward it: the season's conclusion

Taking a break

The fact is, weekly podcasting will be terrific in the beginning . However, the weekly content treadmill begins to wear you down. Every couple months--this is important-- take a break.

Evolution & Improvement

Inquire with your audience about what they liked and disliked. Inquire about what they want to hear about the next season. Inquire about the format, the hosts, and the themes. Inquire about how you can improve.

Evergreen Resources

The advantage of podcasting in seasons is that it allows for the steady accumulation of extremely authoritative evergreen materials.
