What you must know about video   podcasts

Aren't podcasts audio only? Although they are typically audio-only, but more and more podcasters are also embracing other channels to increase engagement, visibility, and discoverability. Typically, podcasts give each episode in the same file format and on the same audio or video topic.

How can podcasts have video? : Videos can be distributed to various audiences via websites, podcasting applications, streaming services (such as YouTube or Vimeo), social networks, and more. The type of video depends on your subject and how much time you want to spend on camera..

Remote video podcasts   A conversation between multiple people in their own homes. There are no studios, green screens, expensive cameras, or special effects used; simply standard podcast audio equipment and simple video equipment with an additional camera.

The in-studio video podcasts:  You can see the presenters are all in the same room with the same professional equipment in the Comedy Bang Bang! video podcast (link below), hosted on Earwolf's YouTube site, but they havecreatively used framing and editing to obtain close-ups, wide shots, and reacting footage as well.

Mixed-media video podcasts :  It’s fairly popular in video game podcasts. A couple of examples of this include the Pretty Good Gaming Podcast (click link below) which uses in-frame edits to show video game footage alongside the hosts

Starting a YouTube podcast :  YouTube has a sizable audience of more than 2 billion users waiting to connect with you. The upload process is quite easy. Additionally, YouTube will host your video podcasts, so you won't need to worry about that. Recently YouTube has started its own podcast page

In the end:  Podcasting is ultimately just as good as you make it. While we don't advocate including video in every podcast, we also don't believe they should always be audio-only.
