Founder’s Story & Vision
PodMirror was conceptualized in April 2020 by Dr. Shyno B. Paul and her late brother-in-law, Elgin Matt John, out of a shared belief in the unique power of spoken-word audio to connect people on a deeply personal level. They recognized that podcasts—through raw first-person narratives, deep-dive interviews, and creative audio formats—draw listeners into authentic human experiences, building empathy and understanding across diverse cultures.
Dr. Shyno B. Paul holds a PhD in Comparative English Studies from Delhi University. Her academic journey spans years of higher education teaching, having served as faculty at St. Xavier’s College (Ahmedabad) and Karnavati University (Gandhinagar), alongside contributing to the Mahatma Gandhi Heritage Sites Mission with the Sabarmati Ashram.
Her lifelong commitment to narrative led to the creation of #HashtagWomen (available on Spotify and Audible), focusing on women’s experiences and social issues, as well as @theDailySpeakingTree podcast on YouTube.
